Host travelers and talent on Sunward

Sunward helps hosts welcome travelers who contribute real skills. This page covers listing quality, screening, capacity, and communication — so you attract people who fit your space.

Creating an Opportunity

Describe the help you need, approximate weekly hours, skills that matter, and who thrives in your home or business. Specific listings attract better applications than vague ones.

Update or pause Opportunities when seasons change so travelers do not apply to closed needs.

Describing lodging and expectations

State room type benefits, shared spaces, and whether meals are included among Opportunity benefits. Mention kitchen access in property offers when you provide it. Travelers compare stays using pricing and benefits — our free accommodation abroad guide mirrors the questions they ask. Spell hours and skills needed clearly too — travelers use hours, tasks, and expectations when they evaluate fit.

Add house rules early on the property: quiet hours, guests, smoking, and how shared kitchens work.

Deciding which skills you need

Prioritize skills that unlock real outcomes for you this month — not an endless wish list. One clear primary need beats five weak ones.

If you need intensive task coverage, say so. If you mainly want cultural exchange with light help, say that too.

Screening travelers

Read Skill Profiles, look for relevant concrete examples in bios or messages, and chat to test communication style. Ask about dates, experience, and why your Opportunity fits them.

When verification or reviews are available, use them as signals — not as a substitute for your own judgment.

Seasonality and capacity

Be honest about busy seasons, quiet weeks, and how many travelers you can host well at once. Overbooking help helps no one.

Plan onboarding time for arrivals. A short orientation prevents repeated questions and damaged trust.

Communicating with applicants

Reply when you can, decline kindly when it is not a fit, and keep agreements in writing in the chat. Clear no’s free travelers to apply elsewhere.

After a stay, reviews help future hosts — leave them when the product flow offers them.

Publish a clear Opportunity

Spell out skills needed, hours, pricing, and lodging benefits — plus house rules on the property — then welcome travelers who are ready to contribute.
